2013
5th annual Summit
The fifth TAG Summit was held July 16, 2013, on Capitol Hill. Prior to the summit, during the winter of 2013 and upon the recommendation of retiring Rep. Sue Myrick and Co-Secretary General Walid Phares, TAG invited US Representative Jeff Duncan (R-SC) to serve as the second U.S. Co-Chair for the group. Since the 2013 summit, the Co-Chair position in U.S. Congress has rotated on an annual basis to incorporate Congressmen and women from a variety of committees and U.S. states.
The July summit, co-chaired by MEP Jaime Mayor Oreja and U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan was attended by members of the European Parliament, the U.S. Congress, including U.S. Senators. The summit addressed transatlantic and international challenges at the security, economy, and technological levels focusing also on cyber security and Iranian policies in the region.
